What we Offer
Asian Focus seeks to help families overcome cultural and language barriers by hosting or partnering with others on projects and issues that touch families now. Just in this year alone we organized a free Career Fair to help address the current economic realities facing most families. Through the dedicated service of recruiters and HR professionals, we were able to help job seekers on topics ranging from resume review to new media networking.
In April, we helped host Citizenship Day. In partnership with the American Immigration Lawyers Association, local and national law firms, the event sought to help immigrants navigate through the sometimes complicated immigration process. This pro bono service was just the latest in a string of projects, big and small, that Asian Focus is proud to be a part of.
Next we seek to address the issue of healthcare. While many may be talking the politics of it, we successfully presented a Health Fair to the Asian community in September. Asian Focus seeks to do and achieve, to help inform the community of both the political and the practical aspects of one’s health. We successfully reached this goal with the Asian Health Fair. Participation at the fair was over 60 health vendors, 30 plus doctors and numerous health professionals. With support from generous sponsors like Sam’s Club, CTG, local business and countless volunteers from coalition partners, the fair helped served an estimated 1500 attendees.
